Meet Pierre Jordaan, Director of Compliance.
An integral part of eCOGRA management, Pierre leads a team of compliance auditors from the company’s Dublin office.

  1. How long have you been with the company?

I have been with the company since May 2017.

  1. How has your role evolved over time since you’ve been here?

I started off with the role of Compliance Auditor where I learned fundamentals of the industry and was eventually able to grow into the role of a senior compliance auditor. During this time, I took on the responsibility for multiple client audits, including ISO27001 certifications. My next challenge presented itself as I was promoted and entrusted with the role of Compliance Manager. Responsibilities included leading a team of auditors and focusing on the ISO27001 service line of eCOGRA.  As part of this management role, I took part in accreditation audits and new market entries as the industry became more and more regulated, observing a wide array of new regulations and requirements. Currently I’m part of the eCOGRA Dublin office, where I represent the role of Compliance Director.

  1. What do you like most about the work we do here?

We are all working towards building a safe and fair industry. We provide the highest standards in testing and certification services. We pay great attention to the needs of players and our customers through commitment and interaction. Working with honest and kind colleagues. Anything can be achieved when you have the support of your colleagues.

  1. What are your goals for the next year?

I have a list of short- and long-term goals. Once I put my mind to something, I am unstoppable.

I strive to keep growing as a subject matter expert within the industry and to contribute as much as possible towards personal and professional growth.

A personal as well as professional goal for me is to help shape the practice of information security within the online gaming industry. For the next five years I aim to write about my teachings of how information security is regulated within the industry and why it is important. By publishing my writings on information security within the online gaming industry I’ll achieve my personal goal of contributing to knowledge.

Another one of my professional goals over the next five years will be to connect with other industry leaders on a global scale.

A person goal for me is to learn more about responsible eSports as it captivates and takes the industry by storm.

  1. What is the one thing that our clients don’t know about you that they would be surprised if they found out?

I play chess, enjoy travelling and fishing.

  1. When you were 5 years old what did you want to be when you grew up?

I have always been fascinated by computers and technology, however I must admit, I did not see myself chasing the information security audit profession growing up. With the wild imagination of a five-year old, I wanted to go on adventures and to explore the unexplored!
