Meet Filipe Alves, Team Manager.
Filipe leads with passion and purpose, inspiring his team to be their best selves, both in and outside of work.
- How long have you been with the company?
I started in November 2018. It’s my 5 year anniversary!
- How has your role evolved over time since you’ve been here?
I started as a Compliance Tester and learned the fundamentals of the industry. With the guidance and support of my mentor, I took on the responsibility of managing multiple clients. In 2020, I was promoted to Senior Compliance Tester and shortly after I was promoted to Delivery Team Lead.
In 2022, I was offered the opportunity to move to Malta with a promotion to Team Manager and became entrusted with the role of Malta representative.
- What do you like most about the work we do here?
I love being part of an ever-changing and growing industry and collaborating with colleagues and clients from around the world. I enjoy providing our clients with exemplary service that is of the highest quality as well as continuously growing and making improvements to my team and eCOGRA.
- What are your goals for the next year?
A personal goal is to move to Ireland with my wife and cat, and to find a great place to settle and call home for the foreseeable future.
Professionally, I continuously strive to identify areas of improvement to assist my team in performing their tasks to the best of their ability and providing an excellent service to our clients with efficiency and quality.
- What is the one thing that our clients don’t know about you that they would be surprised if they found out?
I really love watching movies, a good beer and travelling.
- When you were 5 years old what did you want to be when you grew up?
I most probably wanted to be Spiderman! I was always traveling around South Africa with my family, camping and hiking. At 5 I wanted to travel the world and do things most people don’t get the opportunity to do, which I have mostly been succeeding in, by participating in extreme sporting activities, walking the Camino de Santiago and living abroad. I look forward to what life has in store for me every day.
