Douwe, our Chief Systems Officer, is a strategic leader known for his expertise in systems architecture, driving technological innovation, and optimising operational efficiency within the organisation.
- How long have you been with the company?
I’ve been with eCOGRA for nearly 12 years.
- How has your role evolved over time since you’ve been here?
I began as a Platform IT Auditor, where I played a key role in establishing the Johannesburg Lab, later taking on the role of Lab Manager. After that, I led the Platform Certification team before transitioning into the Co-Chief Delivery Officer role, overseeing production teams. Recently, I’ve shifted my focus to systems implementation and optimisation in my current role as Chief Systems Officer.
- What do you like most about the work we do here?
I appreciate the collaborative culture, the innovative minds I get to work with, and the strong sense of compassion and support we have for one another.
- What are your goals for the next year?
On a personal level, I look forward to spending more time with friends and family and pursuing my passion for music. Professionally, eCOGRA is undergoing significant system upgrades and process improvements, and my goal is to ensure these transitions are seamless, enabling the company to leverage these tools to drive further growth and success.
- What is the one thing that our clients don’t know about you that they would be surprised if they found out?
I have a deep passion for classical music and opera. In fact, I’ve performed lead roles in various operatic productions.
- When you were 5 years old what did you want to be when you grew up?
Even as a child, I was drawn to music and entertainment. My dream was to become an opera singer.
