Meet Danie Meyer, Senior Compliance Manager.
Danie’s hard work and commitment to eCOGRA has seen him rise through various roles within the company to lead the cyber security department.
- How long have you been with the company?
I have been with the company since 2016.
- How has your role evolved over time since you’ve been here?
I began as a compliance auditor and later became a senior compliance auditor in 2018. I also took on the internal audit management role until 2020. In 2019, I assumed responsibility for our cyber security department, which I currently oversee. In January 2023, I was promoted to senior compliance manager.
- What do you like most about the work we do here?
What I like most about the work we do here is the opportunity to work in the field of cyber security and engage with clients. Cyber security is a dynamic and ever-evolving field that I am passionate about. I strive to continuously learn and stay up to date. Interacting with clients and witnessing the skills they apply in safeguarding their digital assets brings me great satisfaction.
- What are your goals for the next year?
Professionally I am determined to pursue the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification in the near future. This certification will further uplift my skills and knowledge in the field of cyber security, empowering me further.
As for a personal goal, I plan to dedicate more time to my personal relationships, to be more present and to enjoy more quality time with family members.
- What is the one thing that our clients don’t know about you that they would be surprised if they found out?
One thing that our clients may be surprised to know about me is that I play guitar.
- When you were 5 years old what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was 5 years old, I dreamt of becoming a pilot. However, as I grew older, I realised that my fear of heights would make it challenging to pursue a career in aviation. My passion for cyber security has driven me to find fulfilment and success in this field.
