Chad Shering, Head of Growth.

Chad, our dynamic Head of Growth, is a relentless and results-oriented leader committed to driving unparalleled performance and propelling our company to new heights through strategic and innovative growth initiatives.

  1. How long have you been with the company?

I have been with eCOGRA since February 2017, so coming up to 7 years.

  1. How has your role evolved over time since you’ve been here?

It’s been quite a ride so far. I started as a Game Tester not knowing anything about the industry and very little about compliance testing. I remained in the Games Lab for a few years, acquiring new skills, developing more effective and efficient processes in the Lab and understanding what our clients wanted. I then got more involved with our Quality Management System and the overall company processes. Now I am in my current role as Head of Growth, focusing on driving the growth of eCOGRA.

  1. What do you like most about the work we do here?

The industry is constantly changing, bringing with it new challenges. I love a good challenge as it brings with it opportunities to adapt, learn new skills and test ourselves. This is a testament to the great team we have at eCOGRA, who provide an environment that creates confidence to face these challenges head on.

  1. What are your goals for the next year?

Professionally, my main goal is to facilitate success for eCOGRA, its employees and our clients. Basically, if it is in my control and can add value to ensure success in these areas, I want to make it happen.

Personally, I would really like to improve on my golfing abilities.

  1. What is the one thing that our clients don’t know about you that they would be surprised if they found out?

I enjoy bird watching. It seems to bring some sort of calmness and peace. We are fortunate in South Africa to have an extensive variety of birds, so there are always new ones to spot.

  1. When you were 5 years old what did you want to be when you grew up?

I can’t remember what I was doing at 5 years old, but it definitely did not involve the online gambling industry! The only thing I can slightly recall was the 1995 Rugby World Cup when the Springboks won for the first time. So my best guess would be a professional sportsman.
