Anna Deegan, Head of Quality and Training.
Anna, our Head of Quality and Training, plays a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of compliance and excellence within the iGaming certification industry.
- How long have you been with the company?
I joined eCOGRA in May 2023, so almost a year and a half, gone by in the blink of an eye.
- How has your role evolved over time since you’ve been here?
I started out as the Quality Manager. I was the first dedicated QM, as prior to my joining it was part of a dual role. Over the past year, because we now have a dedicated resource, I have been able to get more involved across different areas. Recently we merged the training function into the Quality department which is very exciting as training and quality go hand in hand and I begin in the new role of Head of Quality and Training.
- What do you like most about the work we do here?
A huge part of my role is continuous improvement. At eCOGRA we have a culture of striving to be better, we will never be satisfied, there is always a way that we can develop and improve. I love that about eCOGRA. I also love the people, ready to help and offer ideas, it’s a real collaborative effort.
- What are your goals for the next year?
Professionally I want to focus on developing my team (they don’t need much help from me there) and also to ensure that merging training into the quality department is successful and that we have an enviable training and development program in place.
Personally, life is great so no dramatic changes ahead. For a long time I’ve said that I would like to learn another language, I have a few words of French leftover from my school days. Maybe it’s time to push myself and start down that road.
- What is the one thing that our clients don’t know about you that they would be surprised if they found out?
In my downtime I am never without a craft in my hand, crocheting, needle felting, paper crafts, floristry, I love them all.
- When you were 5 years old what did you want to be when you grew up?
No five-year-old has ever wanted to be a Quality Manager, that’s for sure. I wanted to be a nurse when I was little. I’m glad I took a different path as I’m pretty sure I’d have been a terrible nurse!
