Meet Marieta Groeneveld, Chief People Officer.
Marieta’s expertise and leadership in the realm of human resources and talent management play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company and the careers of our team members.
- How long have you been with the company?
Almost a year.
- How do you envisage your role will evolve over time?
I am still new to the company and my role is ever growing and changing, I am privileged to work for a company that allows me to make my role my own and to look for opportunities to add value and bring new innovations in the Human Resources space.
- What do you like most about the work we do here?
I like that our purpose is to create a safe gambling environment for people across the world. I enjoy seeing the successes we have as a company and to see our teams grow and individuals reach their potential.
- What are your goals for the next year?
My goal for the next year is to implement the HR Strategy that we have set and to really focus in on development of our people and teams. As for my personal goals I am looking forward to many fun adventures and making new memories, including going to Japan and exploring Ireland.
- What is the one thing that our clients don’t know about you that they would be surprised if they found out?
Well, most of our internal teams know this by now, but I am an avid horse rider that competes in Show Jumping. I am by no means at a professional level, but I have been riding for 26 years and I love the sport and my horses.
- When you were 5 years old what did you want to be when you grew up?
Well according to video evidence of my kindergarten graduation I proudly proclaimed that I was going to become a hairdryer, my friend said hairdresser and I translated that to my native language of Afrikaans as the equivalent of a hairdryer. In all honesty I had no idea what I wanted to be, but I knew that whatever it was I wanted to have a positive impact on the people around me.
